On the pages of the Baggy Maggy.

The Baggy Maggy was a B24J Liberator of the USAAF 8th AF, 93rd Bomb Group. It crashed in Holland on september 18th 1944 after a supply drop run in the Market-Garden area. The plane crashed in the hamlet of Castelré.

In the crash there was one victim among the crew:
Technical Sergeant William Kirlin Jr.

He died because he refused to leave his position during the emergency landing. He was saving the life of his captain. He succeeded in saving the life of captain Larry hewin, but he was killed in the crash landing, because the topturret of the plane felt down on him and crushed him. He's a true HERO!
